Merry "Bacteria-Free" Christmas!!!

I was thinking of what to give to my officemates for Christmas.  Been browsing GT for quite some time to get ideas.  There was one who suggested to give hand sanitizers.  I thought that was a brilliant idea! Its a perfect gift for me because its useful unlike frames or mugs which will eventually collect dust.
Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against those people giving frames and mugs, and besides, it the thought that counts.  However, for me, I want to give gifts that can be used everyday.  Anyway, I finally decided to give hand sanitizers for my officemates this Christmas.  Well, this is not suitable for those who have lots of officemates unless you only give to some.  We are only 18 in our department and I feel that if I  give to one, i have give to all of them.

After sometime of browsing through Ebay and sulit.ph, I finally settled for those sold by sis Abbierose of http://www.bathandbody.ph/.  She sells the cheapest bath and body works products, in my own opinion.  Others sell the 1 oz pocketbac for 150php.  Sis Abbierose's is only 95php! What a saving! I also bought the holders.  Other sellers priced them at 95php each, sis Abbie gave it to me for only 70! I bought 20 pieces of assorted variants of pocketbacs and 20 pieces of assorted colors of the holders.  They're so cute! I cant help but to save one for myself! Hahaha

This is the package that was waiting for me after a stressful day at work!

10 marbled (swirl) holders in assorted colors

10 assorted holders with glitters!

20 Bath and Body Works 1 oz Pocketbacs Christmas Edition in assorted variants!  They're all so cute!

This is how it looks like when it is placed in its holder.

Arent they cute!?  Thanks sis Abbierose for the very fast transaction.  I paid wednesday morning and the items arrived thursday after lunch.  You can browse through their website:

PROJECT CARBON NEUTRAL

Today, the Project Carbon Neutral was launched in our school.  Too bad I wasnt able to attend the launching because I had class during that time.  Anyway, the goal of Project Carbon Neutral is to -- well -- to balance our carbon emission with activities that will offset them, like, planting trees for example.

From this day, I promise to contribute to Project Carbon Neutral by making our environment greener in my own little ways... I will start with the following:
 Green Bag

Yes! I will make it a point to use my green bag whenever I go to the supermarket.  Or use bayong if I go to the wet market.  This would lessen the plastic that would pollute our mother earth.
I say:  NO TO STYRO

Aside from styro being non-biodegradle.  Did you know that styrene, a component of styro, is toxic?  It will be released when heat is applied to styro (READ:  PLACING HOT FOOD!).  So to keep ourselves and mother earth healthy, lets all say:  NO TO STYRO!
Plant A Tree
Trees will absorb carbon, thus helping us in achieving a Carbon Neutral Environment.  Additionally, planting a tree is one "must do" in life.  They say that if you have done/achieved the following, you can die a contented person:  1.  Plant a Tree; 2.  Write a book; 3.  Get married or enter the seminary or convent.  How about you? Are you ready to die a contented person?

Baked Macaroni

Its the BF's birthday today.  Since we cannot celebrate it together, (Darn LDR!) I decided to make one of his favorite dishes (sabi nya!) -- BAKED MAC.  Traditionally, you use chicken for this.  But since i'm starting to be health conscious, hehehe, i substituted tuna for the chicken.

I hope all of you will enjoy my version of baked mac as much as my family enjoyed it!

Happy Birthday BEE!!!

Ingredients:
454 g macaroni, cooked accordint to package directions
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp garlic
1/2 finely diced onions
2 cups shredded chicken breast (cooked)
1 cup sweet ham strips
1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced
2 cups tomato sauce
2 cups chicken broth
1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp black peer
2 tsp sugar

Instructions:  just combine everything in a sauce pan.  set aside.

cheese sauce:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup all purpose cream
2 cups quickmelt cheese

Instructions:  mix and melt using wire whisk.

How to do it:
1.  Preheat oven to high setting.
2.  Prepare the macaroni and sauce mixture
3.  Prepare the cheese sauce
4.  Arrange the prepared macaroni and cheese sauce in a 2-quart pyrex dish or any oven proof dish or foil pan in this manner:
macaroni --- cheese sauce --- macaroni ---- chees sauce
5.  Bake in preheated oven for 15 - 20 minutes
6.  Enjoy!

Lord of the ONION RINGS!

Here's my version of a favorite snack - ONION RINGS.  Others might ask why bother to make onion rings when you can buy them in fastfoods.  Well, number 1, there's no Burger King in this part of the country.  Number 2, i was so dissapointed with the onion rings at Mooon Cafe.  It was oily. It was soggy.  It was just.... so unappetizing.  And lastly, making my own onion ring would save me a lot! For a 25php white onion, you can feed 6 - 8 people.

 Onion Rings

Onion Rings with Mayo and Catsup Dip

Ingredients:
2 large white onions
2 eggs beaten
1 cup evaporated milk
all purpose flour
bread crumbs -- ideally, you use the brown fine bread crumbs.  but if its now available, the japanese breadcrumbs will do. just put it in a food processor to grind it into fine powder.
salt and pepper to taste

How to do it:
1.  Slice the onions into 1/8 inch rings -- well it really depends on how thick you want your onion rings to be.
2.  Stir in 2 beaten eggs in 1 cup evaporated milk.  Mix thoroughly.
3.  Soak the onion rings into the egg and milk mixture.
4.  Dip the soaked onion rings into the all purpose flour.  Refrigerate for at least an hour.  This will help the flour stick to the onions.
5.  Season the bread crumbs with salt and pepper.
6.  Soak again the onions in the egg and milk mixture.
7.  Dip the soaked onions in the prepared bread crumbs.
8.  Deep fry until golden brown
9.  Serve with mayo and/or catsup.
10.  ENJOY!

My Skin Care Routine

I really don't know what skin type I have.  But most of the time my face tends to get oily.   This is my current skin care routine.  I havent had any serious breakouts for almost 15 years.  Im blaming my teenage raging hormones for my breakouts before.  I do get occasional zits here and there.

1.  Cleanser

Ponds Pure White with Activated Charcoal

Nothing really special about it.  I just want to try another cleanser after I have finished my bar of Kojic Soap.  It does the job.  Ive been using it for a month now and so far no breakouts.
    St. Ives Apricot Scrub

I always feel the need to exfoliat at least once a week.  I really think that it lessened the oiliness in my face.  I havent tried any other facial scrub though.  This baby works perfectly fine for me.

2.  Cleanser/Toner

Eskinol Naturals Orange Fresh Facial Cleanser
Im really inlove with this cleanser.  It really gives me a fresh feeling after.  Not to mention its very refreshing smell.  Ive tried different variants of Eskinol but this one is my favorite.

Pond's White Beauty Toner
I always feel guilty after cleansing my face with my Eskinol Orange Fresh Cleanser.  I feel that it strips away the moisture off my skin.  That's why I always follow it up with Pond's White Beauty Toner.  I also like this toner because it gives me that "Pinkish Glow" even without makeup.  I always get complimented of my rosy cheeks.
3.  Moisturizer

Sorry no pics for this one.  But basically I use two brands of moisturizer.  At night I use Myra-E moisturizer.  I like how this moisturizes my skin however it feels heavy for me during the day especially if i wear makeup.  It makes my skin really oily.  That's why during the day I use Clean and Clear Oil Free Moisturizer.  It does the job while keeping my skin less oily.  Im just finishing my tube of Myra-E moisturizer and just stick to clean and clear unless I find another brand that will suit my oily face.
